Music has always had me by the short-n-curlies. Most of my life has been spent buying rock n roll records. Shortly after its release I was introduced to the RAMONES "Pleaseant Dreams" and this was the beginning of the end. I was addicted to the fast and furious that characterized the early hardcore, punk and metal bands of the 80's. My involvement in local scenes in Hamilton and Winnipeg (putting up posters, hosting radio shows and encouraging bands to step up their live show (also know as creatively spilling as much beer at the front of the stage or on the stage as possible while getting my exercise walking on the ceiling)) mirrored my love for this music. This may be one reason I got involved with NO LIST RECORDS.

Born on a couch at CKUW at the University of Winnipeg, three radio society members lamented that no one was out there actively pushing the amazing local talent that we knew Winnipeg to have. As the music director, I received these tapes on a weekly basis so it became obvious what needed to be done. So Ted Turner, Ryan Howard and I decided to put our monies where our mouth is. The result was a split 10" (Meatrack/Stagmummer) and 7" (Fallenshort), which both quickly became a hit in my basement (still is). With the departure of Turner and Howard I decided to go it alone for our next releases and ran out of steam as I entered my undergrad program in Brandon.

Fast forward 6 years (and 2 degrees later) and along comes Hide Your Daughters, which featured KENmode, Drew from ElectroQuarterstaff and LaPlante from Meatrack. Their brand of new noise got me so charged that I had to return to cheerlead for these primadonna poo-pushers. We released their 7 song debut in the fall of 2003 just after I had finished my last batch of school.

Since then we have release 2 other records and am actively working on more. Because the music I like is pretty noisy I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea. With this launching of the new site we hope to (finally) make this music available to noise-heads everywhere.

Our goal is simple:

Music comes in all different forms. We celebrate this by making accessible those who stand out in my local scene. We attempt to make vinyl a component of our releases whenever I can afford it, because I am an Aural-Nazi. There are two kinds of music: Good and bad. They come in all different styles and genres. We at NO LIST RECORDS release good music exclusively and we don't care if you can't dance to it.

Get in touch if you would like us to represent for you. We are a project based label and are always listening to what is out there. Be sure to check our sounds out here. If you sound like Chevelle or Three Days Grace, save it for the incinerator, ok?
