Stagmummer (ten minutes from now) easter toast fake it life stinks

The Rack is gone but not forgotten. Their side of our first release was recorded in one crunch weekend by Lenny Milne at Bedside Studios. Their live show was just so ferocious and those bass lines just stuck in your head. Here on “f.our” , meatrack serve up a killer raw set of live off the floor cage rattlers. The LaPlante's vocal rip and shred over top of the tightest meatrack lineup ever, featuring 'Snicks' Maki sitting in on the skins. These tunes show up extra brilliant on vinyl, with the three bass attack on 'Pentathol' knocking old photos to the basement floors. The vocalist went on to form Hide Your Daughters with members of KENmode. Guitarist Shawn Dudar joined him early 2005 to take that band to their next level and perhaps a full length recording.Nothing quite like Mummer back in those days. Emerging from cities finest opium dens and paint store back rooms, this 5 piece brought their bludgeoning rock circus to the stages back in 1993. Their “Master is Drunk” cassette was the absolute best thing I had heard that whole next summer, marrying their tactful riffage with total absurdity. Jack Balles would brandish a trumpet like a shiv, taking it out when you least expect it and take the shrill decibility of the band to that next level. Absol-fuckin-lutely the loudest Winnipeg band ever. The three offerings on this 10” show Stagmummer a slow and brooding entity. This would have fit lovely beside “Cunning Stunts” by the COWS or “Life of Crime” by the Laughing Hyenas. Instead it waits for you to discover it almost ten years later. Their later work The only active member from this recording is Chris Bauer, who also bashed skins in the Vagiants.
